         Signing Ceremony for Commissioning of Consultancy Services between ESE under MOEE and Consortium of Consulectra (Germany) Co., Ltd for “ Rural Electrification Programme II On Grid Electrification  Component project to be carried by Germany’s KfW loans was held on 30^th January 2019 in the morning 09:00 AM at MOEE, office No.,27, Nay Pyi Taw.

      In this ceremony, Unin Minister U Win Khaing, Deputy Minister Dr.Tun Naing, Permanent Secretary, departmental heads, Head of Development Cooperation from Germany Embassy Dr. Katharina Spices, Myanmar Country Director of KfW bank, Project Coordinator and responsible persons from consortium of Consulectra (Germany) Co., Ltd were presented.

          Firstly, Union Minister U Win Khaing delivered an opening address that,

• MOEE has aimed to achieve full electric power in 2030 having  loans with low interest rates from world bank, ADB, JICA, KfW Bank, etc., that are international partners,.
• In Myanmar, among 10.88 million households, 4.74 mollion (43%) were already electricified from National grid up to December 2018 and the remaining are 6.14 million (57%)
• MOEE has been arranging to be electrified 55% of total households in 2021 from National Grid,
• Therefore, MOEE has been arranging to distribute more electric power using  Union budget, regions/ states budget, loan and grant from international organizations inducing Germany Loan,
• MOEE totally got Euro 30.418 Million (Loan 23.883 million Euro and grant 6.535 million Euro) from KfW bank, Germany and not only 32406 households in 416 villages would be electrified but also electrified  villages would be distribute in full voltage in southern Shan State by constructing 66/33/11 kV substation and associated transmission lines in Taungyi,  Loi Lin , Lin Khae districts ,
• Up to now, among total households (514639) in southern Shan State 42.64% can be electrified from National Grid,
• after completion of these projects, 6.3% will be increased and 48.49% would be electrified  in Shan State,

And then, Union Minister said that consortium of Consulectra (Germany) Co.,Ltd to carry as follows,

• Consulting and coordination for international tendering process with ESE,
• Evaluating and checking for implementing project,
• Basic and advance technical training,
• Consulting the implementing process,
• Supporting the implementing status report that sending to KfW,
• Coordinating with ESE for preparation of compleion report,
• Consortium of consulectra is not only consuting company in Germany but also experienced in KfW funding project, therefore, to coordinate to be able to carry the project rapidly in accordance with regulars and guidelines of KfW.

     After that, head of development cooperation from Germany Embassy Dr. Katharina delivered an opening address.

      Managing Director U Saw Win Maung from ESE and Project Coordinator Mr. Jurgen Kampa from Consortium of Consulectra ( Germany)Co.,Ltd signed the agreement and mutually  exchanged and take a group photo.

      To start these projects, preparation of bidding document including constancy services would be started within 2 weeks after singing this agreement.
