Deputy Minister Dr. Tun Naing, personal concerned from Yangon Electricity Supply Corporation (YESC) and Electric Power Generation Enterprise (EPGE) and the responsible persons from MOEE inspected 106 MW of Thakata Gas Turbine performed by U Energy Thakata Power Company in Thakata Township, Yangon Region, on January 13, 2018.

          The responsible persons explained about the status on construction and test drive in briefing hall.

          Generation Plant is located in Thakata Gas Turbine yard in Thakata Township, Yangon Region. 1 No. of 75 MW Gas Turbine and 1 No. of 31 MW Steam Turbine Generation were started to construct on 20-3-2016. Require natural gas will be fulfilled from Zawtika off-shore. Power from the plant will be distributed into national grid linking from 66 kV Transmission Line to Thakata Sub-station.

          At present, 75 MW Gas Turbine is on test run and Construction of 31 MW Steam Turbine Generation will be arranged to finish. It is managing to generate regular power from that plant commencing from February, 2018.
