- H.E.Union Minister U Win Khaing for MOEE accompanied by Bago      RegionChief Minister U Win Thein, Deputy Minister Dr.Tun Naing and     Permanent Secretary U Tin Maung Oo arrived at milestone no.40 of Yangon- Mandalay highway and inspected the surrounding area for 500 kV Phayakyi sub- station which will be built near future. Condition of performance and        construction of      sub-station were explained by responsible persons.      Depending on their explanation, the additional explanation was made by   Deputy Minister.

- And then, Union Minister and his companions went to Zaungtu Hydropower     Plant. Managing Director of EPGE explained Data of Zaungtu Hydropower Plant,        status of distributed electricity yearly, water flow status into the reservoir and          normal maintenance and preparation status of generator and distribution of   electricity to the villages near the plant. The additional explanation was made by        Deputy Minister. The Union Minister instructed on the needs and to serve the villages near the plant in order to electrified.

- Continuously, Union Minister and his companions inspected the status of          generating electricity into National Grid System from the generator room and    control room. And then, they arrived at the Main Dam and inspected the water     flow  condition     into Dam, water storage status, water intake and spillway.

- Zaungtu Hydropower Project was established in 1994, to defend Bago River     flood, to distribute water to farms, to be better Navigation system and to generate    and distribute electricity. This project was completed in 2000. This project is to      produce average kWhrs 76 million yearly using totally installed capacity of 20 MW  (10 MW × 2Nos).

- Electricity from above mentioned plant is being transmitted by 66 kV      transmission line through 45.6 miles way kamarnut Sub-station to National Grid         System.

- When Union Minister and his companions arrived at kamarnut Main Sub-station         under DPTSC, Executive Engineer explained the status of transmission and distribution          of  electricity.  Similary maintenance condition of transmission line from National     Grid was reported by Executive Engineer of Kamarnut Transmission Line.

- The Union Minister instructed on the needs and gave the commemorate presents        to staffs in Executive Engineer's office of Kamarnut Primary Sub station and Transmission Line.
