H.E. Union Minister U Win Khaing for MOEE accompanied by Deputy Minister Dr. Tun Naing and responsible persons inspected natural gas pipe line project across the Sittaung river which is connected from near Switpanuu village, Kyaikhto Township in Mon State to near Shankai village, Waw Township today, in the morning. In that project, responsible persons explained about the current status of this project which is constructed by Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) method and length is round about 5900 fts across Sittaung river, diameter of gas pipe line is 20 inches. And then Union Minister made enquiry he wants to know, instructed the needs of work and inspected that project site.
Before, natural gas pipe-line across Sittaung river is 12 inches diameter. But, due to the collapse of river bank, now, 12 inches diameter of natural gas pipe line is replaced by 20 inches diameter pipe so that can supply enough amount of natural gas to Yangon Region. It lies at average 54 fts under river bed and is part of the Kanpauk (Dawei Towship) - Yangon 20 inches diameter natural gas pipe line. It is carried out by Mersing Co., Ltd under supervision of MOGE and 5920 fts pipe-line project was successfully completed on 28th May, 2018.
And then, Union Minister and his companions arrived to 230 kV Sittaung substation Kyaikhto Township, Mon State under DPTSC. At that substation, Executive Engineer of substation explained about the current status of installation of transformer, distribution of electricity and future works of substation. And then, State Engineer of Mon State explained about the future plan for development of electricity and the additional electricity consumption for regional development works of Kyaikto Township. And then, Deputy Minister made additional explanation. According to their explanation, Union Minister instructed the needs of work and inspected the current status of electricity distribution and work performance in switchyard. And then Union Minister instructed to take care for stability for power supply and fulfill voltage of electricity, continuous power supply to this area and clearance of electricity hazard.
