Q & A with Hluttaw Representatives 1 and Ministry of Electricity and Engergy about NEP Plan

          The opening ceremony of additional setting of New CNG Compressor was held in the morning of 12th May, 2018 at Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Shop No.1 under Myanma Oil and Gas Enterprise, Ministry of Electricity and Energy, in Paleik Area, Sink Kaing Township.

          In this ceremony, H.E. U Win Khaing, Union Minister for Ministry of Electricity and Energy accompanied by H.E. Dr. Htun Naing, Deputy Minister, Permanent Secretary, Departmental Heads, Representatives of Parliament, invited guests and local people were presented.

          H.E. U Win Khaing delivered that Ministry of Electricity and Energy keeps trying at every angle for Electricity and Energy Development in order to develop country. Here, MOEE takes care so that to minimize natural and social environmental impact by long-term conservation of natural resources. MOEE is continuously executing EIA, SIA in electricity sector. And, MOEE is efficiently executing energy resources by co-operating with people in energy sector. MOEE is operating in order to use CNG in public-used and regional vehicles. And MOEE is trying in order to get more natural gas from local oil fields by different ways. When getting those natural gas, firstly MOEE will execute to be used for household and then for transportation sector. The new government is implementing for the most usage of LPG by people. MOEE aims and executes to be used approximately for 150000 households in 2020. In near future, it will be opened an LPG Terminal in Yangon and it is planned to be transported by 2,000 tons ship containers. By replacing petrol and diesel imported from abroad with CNG in public transportation sector, it is properly relief the use of Foreign Currency. MOEE opened CNG shop to be easy transport in Paleik Area, Sink Kaing Township and sold CNG commencing from 2004. Today, by additional setting of New CNG Compressor, vehicles can be filled up to 3000 psi gas pressure and filling time will be faster, compressor driving time will be the less and it is relief in maintenance. Now, here is 742 CNG vehicles in Mandalay Region and it will be able to increase CNG vehicles.  And then, CNG vehicles can travel more and more miles and passengers and goods transportation will be improved and so becomes develop more and more. It means supporting to regional development on the other hand. In Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), it is constructed road at Se Sone Village, Paleik Area, Sink Kaing township and donated water treatment plant for Primary School of Se Sone Village by Ministry of Electricity and Energy. By using CNG natural gas, it is saved energy and can reduce environmental impact. So, H.E. urged local people to follow rules and disciplines pronounced by Ministry of Electricity and Energy and co-operate with ministry.

          Then, one of local people said for appreciation and H.E. U Win Khaing gave  presents to honors. Then, H.E. Deputy Minister Dr. Tun Naing, Permanent Secretary U Tin Maung Oo, Managing Director U Myo Myint Oo from Myanma Oil and Gas Enterprise, Mandalay Region Pyithu Hluttaw Representative Dr. Kyi Moh Moh Lwin and Amyotha Hluttaw Representative U Tun Tun Oo  opened the ceremony by cutting the ribbon. And H.E. U Win Khaing filled natural gas into new Compressor by pushing down  the button. Then, he inspected selling CNG to vehicles within CNG shop.

          Next, H.E. Union Minister and his companions arrived Aung Pin Lae Main Substation, Patheingyi Township and head of this substation explained about the acceptance and distribution of power and data of substation. And planning director explained about improvement from 132 kV Aung Pin Lae Main Substation to 230kV Main Substation. Then, Director General from Department of Electric Power Transmission and System Control and H.E. Dr. Tun Naing complemented on his explanation. H.E. Union Minister instructed about requirements. Then, he familiarly met with civil servants and supplied for requirements. He inspected the status of power receive, transmission and distribution within substation control room and transformer and power transmission line updating status within switchyard.

          Then, H.E. Union Minister and his companions arrived guest house of Department of Hydropower Implementation, Pyi Gyi Tagon Township and responsible persons reported about the plan of selling and distribution fuel generated from Mann to upper Myanmar. Union Minster said about requirements.

          Then, H.E. Union Minister and his companions presented the coordination meeting held in Meeting Room, Mandalay Electricity Supply Corporation. H.E. Union Minister highlighted that Instructions in the first speech of State President U Win Myint are guide lines and policy include economic, management, rule of law and clearance of corruption for civil servants. Among them, one of the guide lines for MOEE is to implemented getting electricity (3000) MW within the next three years for power consumers. It is important for electricity distribution in residential commercial and industrial sectors including rural region and to be systematically implement by monitoring weakness. Under MOEE, as civil servants served at Township Electric Engineering Offices and Township Electric Manager Offices have to engage with public, it is important to let know H.E President's guidelines to bottom level for giving best services to public. And it is needed to promote ministry image. When operating Ministry's work, it is to be safely and systematically operated according to rules and procedures and informed to the public. Regarding with the electricity sector, it is needed to operate to be the best for public interest as well as available with mindset of accountability and responsibility.

          Then, District Electricity Managers reported about number of consumers, charges for electricity usage, operation status of improvement of power system, power system development activities, operation status of reducing voltage losses and operation plan to be continued. And, Acting Chief Executive Officer and Acting President from Mandalay Electricity Supply Enterprise made additional explanation. Then, H.E. Deputy Minister Dr. Tun Naing reviewed and H.E. Union Minister U Win Khaing ordered the needs of works.
