Signing Ceremony for Agreement on upgrading of 4 Substations (Alone, Ywama, Hlawkar, Thakata) between Electric Power Generation Enterprise under Ministry of Electricity and Energy and Mitsubishi Corporation was held at Horizon Lake View Restort , Naypyitaw on 29 th may 2018 in the evening 6:30 pm.
In this Ceremony, Union Minister H.E. U Win Khaing, for Ministry of Electricity & Energy, Deputy Minister H.E. Dr. Tun Naing, Permanent Secretary U Tin Maung Oo, Chairman of Construcion, Industry, Electricity and Energy Development Committee (Pyithu Hluttaw) U Kyi Moe Naing, Chairman of Construcion, Industry, Electricity and Energy Development Committee (Amyotha Hluttaw) U Saw Moe Myint , Departmental heads, personal concerned from Embassy of Japan, Yangon, JICA Myanmar Office and Mitsubishi Corporation were presented.
Firstly, In opening speech, H.E. Union Minister U Win Khaing said that today ceremony is held for upgrading 4 nos of Substations (Alone, Ywama, Hlawkar, Thakata) which will be implemented with JP¥ (9.014) Billion under Japanese ODA Loan MY-P2 (Package 2) in Yangon Region. It has been built Gas Turbines such as Alone, Ywama, Hlawkar, Thakata to fill the requirement of Power System in Yangon Region but new projects are being constructing is increasing usage of the public. MOEE is upgrading the old substations, as well as making the new construction of Gas Turbine, the extension of line and substation by State’s budget, furthermore Loan, grant and aid. MOEE is performing annually increase Load to fulfill annually demand. Here, Alone, Hlawkar, Ywama and Thakata Gas Turbine’s substations are over 25years so that capacity is already in decline. Therefore, MOEE borrows Japan ODA loan for upgrading these projects to stable and transmiss more. For the projects, MOEE invites the tender on 4th-11-2016 by International Competitive Bidding (ICB) system which is successed Mitsubishi Corporation with the project price JP¥ (9.014) Billion so that can hold this ceremony. It will take 33 months for the installation of new transformer and upgrade switchyards from AIS to GIS system.
And then, Mitsubishi Corporation General Manager & Country Representative Mr. Hidetoshi Mano made thank you speech and Managing Director of Electric Power Generation Enterprise and Mr. Yuichiro Sakaguch, Assiatant General Manager of Mitsubishi Corporation signed and exchanged for upgrading 4 Substations following taking group photos.
