        The coordination meeting for reliance and improvement of power system and distribution more electric power in Yangon Region was held at meeting room of Yangon Electricity Supply Corporation (Head Office) on 14^th July , 2018 in the morning (09:00) AM.

          In this meeting, Union Minister U Win Khaing, Deputy Minister Dr. Tun Naing, Permanent Secretary U Tin Maung Oo, Chairman for Yangon Electricity Supply Corporation , Director Generals , Managing Directors, Departmental Heads from Departments and Enterprises, township engineers/managers and district engineers/managers in Yangon Region were presented.

          Firstly, Union Minister delivered an opening address that;

• Electricity distribution to Yangon Region is one of major sector for Ministry of Electricity and Energy,
• among 4million electrified households in totally (10) million households of Myanmar according to census report , there are (1.3)million households used electric power in Yangon Region. So , it needs to emphasize to get more power,
• needs to distribute reliable and qualified electric power to public,
• needs to conduct  so that electric power can be used in several sectors such as public , industrial entrepreneurs , industrial zone , economic zone …etc. seeing it as a market,
• needs to change as an organization which can give the best services in distribution electricity as require as with the reasonable price at required place in the time the people need,
• Every person of Yangon Electricity Supply Corporation must be done their tasks with full responsibility and accountability because of the expression of World Bank in doing business such that individual continuously power receiving and its index is important in investment portion,
• Needs to change and go as an aim based on weak point and requirements.

And then, permanent secretary U Tin Maung Oo briefed up the current electricity distribution status of Yangon Region.

The managers of eastern, western , southern and northern districts in Yangon Region presented about the number of users in each district, current tariff  rate , ongoing plan for reduction of electricity shortage.

Chief Executive officer and Chairman of Yangon Electricity Supply Corporation briefed up on explanations as per district. Director General of Department of Electric Power Transmission and System Control explained about the plan for transmission line and substation projects which will be implemented in Yangon Region and Deputy Minister briefed up technical working sequence according to current condition of district.

On above explanations, Union Minister gave instructions such that,

• there are two portions , one is repair work in districts and another is additional work of Yangon Electricity Supply Corporation ,
• to perform ongoing works per their sector with the aim step by step,
• to be carried out electricity safety and reduction of electricity shortage in long term by replacing with SAC cable and Aerial Bundle Cables in old cables.
