Deputy Minister Dr.Tun Naing inspects the events of electric and energy sector in Shan State and Kayah State

          Deputy Minister Dr.Tun Naing for Ministry of Electricity and Energy accompanied by responsible persons from Department of Electric Power Transmission and System Control and Electricity Supply Enterprise inspected 132kV Kalaw Substation in Shan(South) State on 20th October 2018. In the inspection, Executive Engineer of this substation presented current situation of primary substation and then Deputy Minister gave comments such as to clean, strong and fit the transmission lines and substations, to clear electric hazard, to reduce electric shortage and to stable voltage and then inspected around the substation.

          After that, Deputy Minister and his companions  left  from Shan(South) State and arrived to Moe Byae Dam under Department of Hydropower Implementation in Kayah State and responsible persons presented water inflow and storage condition of reservoir. Then Deputy Minister gave comments and inspected around the Moe Byae Dam.

          Continuously, Deputy Minister and his companions arrived to Baluchaung No.(2) hydro power plant under Electric Power Generation Enterprise in South East of Loikaw and inspected running condition of power plant and gave comments on it.

Baluchaung  No.(2) power plant has installed capacity of 168 MW(28MW x 6Nos)and designed  annual generation is 1190MWh. The first (3) machines are started generation in 1960 and the second (3) machines, in 1974.

          When Deputy Minister and his companions arrived to Baluchaung No.(3) power plant constructed by Future Energy Co.,ltd;  responsible persons took them around the plant and presented the current  generation of this plant. Deputy Minister gave comments and instructions on it.

          Baluchaung No.(3) power plant is located away from 25km of south-east of Loikaw, near convergence of Baluchaung and Ponchaung, design installed capacity is 52MW(26MW x 2Nos) and annual generation is 334MWh and consumes release water from No.(2) Baluchaung power plant.

          The water consume for Baluchaung No. (1,2,3) power plants  come from Innlay Lake via Moe Byae Dam as a storage and generate power step by step.

          Electric power have been generated from Baluchaung No.(1,2,3) power plants are distributing, connecting to the national grid with 230kV transmission lines.
