Signing Ceremony for Power Purchase Agreement between EPGE and VPower Holdings Limited

        Signing Ceremony for Power Purchase Agreement between EPGE and VPower Holdings Limited was held at Horizon lake View Hotel, Nay Pyi Taw on 7.11.2018 at 6:00 pm.

        In this ceremony, Union Minister H.E. U Win Khaing for Ministry of Electricity and Energy, Union Minister H.E. Dr. Than Myint for Ministry of Commerce, members of Pyithu Hluttaw Electricity and Energy Development Committee and Amyotha Hluttaw Construction, Industry, Electricity and Energy Committee, Deputy Minister H.E. Dr. Tun Naing, Permanent Secretary, Departmental Heads and Responsible Persons, Co- Chief Executive Officer Mr. Au Yeung Tai Hong Rorce of VPower Holdings Limited and company members were attended.

        Union Minister gave an opening address that:-

  • MOEE is striving for development in electricity sector dividing into 3 portions such as generation, transportation and distribution
  • Additional requirement of electricity is(3,000) MW in 2020-2021
  • New government is striving with the aim to fulfill requirement electricity,
  • Proper Generation Mix  consisting several resources needs to take a vital role for Reliable Power in electricity distribution for the whole nation.
  • Myingyan (90) MW Power Plant Project is conducting to fulfill in a short time for the electricity requirement of Nation consuming 20 mmcfd of Shwe Offshore Natural Gas before summer 2019.
  • It is signed between EPGE and VPower Holdings Limited for Power Purchase Agreement to purchase electricity that will generate from Myingyan (90) MW  Power Plant,
  • Myingyan (90) MW Power Plant is situated in Taungtha Township, Myingyan District, Mandalay Region and Generation Capacity is 90 MW.
  • Electricity from its Power Plant will be distributed to Myingyan Township, Taungtha Township, Natogyi Township, Ngazun Township and Nyaung- U Township via Myingyun 132 kV Substation.

        And then, gratitude speech was delivered by Co-Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Au-Yeung Tai Hong Rorce of VPower.  

        EPGE, Managing Director U Khin Maung Win and Senior Regional Manager Mr. Oscar Ng of VPower Holdings Limited signed and exchanged the Power Purchase Agreement and took the time for group photo section.    

        This Power Plant was set-up in May 2018 by VPower Holdings Limited based on Hongkong with Independent Power Producer (IPP), Build- Operate - Own (BOO) Unit, and will start to produce electricity commercially in February 2019. Plant install capacity is totally (99.84) MW (1.56 MW x 64 Nos) and generation capacity is (90)MW, annual designed capacity is unit million (630). It is a project that will fulfill requirement electricity of the Nation.
