- Announcing Ceremony of Natural Gas Master Plan in Myanmar conducted with the Technical and Financial assistance of Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) joining with Ministry of Electricity and Energy (MOEE) was held at Thingaha Hotel, Nay Pyi Taw on 11-12-2018 at 9:30 am.

- In this ceremony, Union Minister H.E. U Win Khaing for MOEE, Deputy Minister H.E. Dr. Tun Naing and officials, invited persons, local / international companies cooperating in oil and gas sector, development partners, chairman and members of ERIA were attended.

- Union Minister revealed words of thank to ERIA conducted with technical and financial assistance to Gas Master Plan, energy security stands in vital role due to increasing energy prices, enhancing energy demand in local, due to conducting special care as per political / social aspect on Environmental Impact Accessment (EIA) conditions, oil and gas sector is very important for Industry Sector Development and Electricity Generation Enhancement, to gain stable energy for effectively use energy efficiency, to develop of sustainable energy sector. This plan is essential for Myanmar attention to environmental conservation, this Master Plan is implementing to sustainable development Goals-7 of United Nations as consist as exploration, exploitation and production of oil and gas sector, related pipeline sector, Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) sector and Civil Natural Gas Distribution sector. And then Prof. Hidetoshi Nishimura, President of ERIA delivered an address.

- Afterwards, President of ERIA handed over Natural Gas Master Plan to Union Minister and took a commemorative group photo.

- And then, history of outcoming Natural Gas Master Plan was explained by U Zaw Aung, Director General, Oil and Gas Planning Department. Similarly, final report of Natural Gas Master Plan by Mr. Yoshikazu Kobayashi, leader of drawing group.

- This plan is drawn with the aim to lay down business plan to fulfill natural gas demand in future, to lay down basic infrastructure required for development of natural gas sector, to lay down policies based on natural gas policies practising in the world that can support state economy and can benefit the people.
