          Electricity Supply Enterprise under Ministry of Electricity & Energy, Able Winner Co., Ltd , Soe Moe Than Co., Ltd , Helta Light Co., Ltd and Myanmar Super Ray Co., Ltd signed the contract for implementation of National Electrification Plan (C1 W1) in Sagaing Division on 21^st December, 2018, (14:00) hr at the Meeting Room of MOEE, Office No(27), Nay Pyi Taw. These (4) companies will construct transmission lines and install transformers for getting electricity 482 villages in Sagaing Division.

          Union Minister for MOEE U Win Khaing, Permanent Secretary U Tin Maung Oo, Departmental Heads, Managing Directors and responsible persons from companies were attended to this Signing Ceremony.

          Firstly, H.E. Union Minister U Win Khaing delivered an address that the aim of this contract is for implementation of National Electrification Plan (C1 W1) in Sagaing Division. Now, MOEE is performing National Electrification Plan-NEP. As initial project, MOEE accepted a loan of US$ 310 millions from World Bank and is performing the first phase of NEP, to gain access electricity to 5080 villages within 2 miles far from National Grid. MOEE conducted the International Competitive Bidding – ICB for purchasing transformers, concrete poles, insulators, cables, arms and accessories and then the system of National Competitive Bidding – NCB for construction. And then, MOEE inspected in accord with the specification of World Bank together with international consultants. These (4) companies need to implement the investigation and instruction works, as per rules and regulations in contract, take care of safety and qualification of the project. After that, Managing Director of ESE U Saw Win Maung explained the future plan of this project.

          And then, U Saw Win Maung, Managing Director of ESE and Managing Directors of respective companies signed and exchanged the contract.

          MOEE is performing National Electrification Plan-NEP. As initial project, MOEE accepted a loan of US$ 310 million and is performing the first phase of NEP, to gain access electricity to 5080 villages within 2 miles far from National Grid in respective States and Regions. It will be started to implement in January, 2019 and 626757 households of 5080 villages will get electricity from national grid. For the first phase of NEP plan, MOEE invited (12)Nos of Tender. The aim of this contract is for getting electricity (482) villages in Sagaing, Shwebo, Kanbalu, Katha District in Sagaing Division. When this project is completed, (52247) households will be electrified in September, 2019. And then, MOEE is inspecting all remaining tenders as per specification of World Bank in time.
