           Signing ceremony of agreement contract to purchase electricity between Electric Power Generation Enterprise (EPGE), Ministry of Electricity and Energy (MOEE) and the New Energy Oasis Development Co.,Ltd. was held on 28^th December, 2018 at 6:00PM at Horizon Lake View Hotel, Nay Pyi Taw.

          H.E. U Win Khaing, Union Minister for MOEE, Dr. Tun Naing, Deputy Ministry for MOEE, U Kyi Moe Naing, Chairman for Pyi Thu Hluttaw’s Electricity and Energy Development Committee and members, U Tin Maung Oo, Permanent Secretary for MOEE, Director Generals and Managing Directors from Departments and Enterprises, departmental responsible persons, U Khaing Oo, Managing Director from the New Energy Oasis Development Co.,Ltd. and relative persons were attended to this ceremony.

          Firstly, H.E. Union Minister U Win Khaing gave an opening remark that -

• This ceremony is the signing ceremony of agreement contract to purchase electricity generated from Upper Belu Chaung Hydropower Plant Project between EPGE and the New Energy Oasis Development Co.,Ltd.
• Upper Belu Chaung Hydropower Plant Project has been started since 2011 and implemented by Build, Operate and Transfer (B.O.T) and it is finished 45.48% of the whole project at present.
• It will be transmitted electricity from this project to National Grid within 3 years after signing the purchasing electricity agreement.
• It consists of 2 power plants in Upper Belu Chaung Hydropower Plant Project and installed capacity of Power Plant No (1) is 20.4 MW and Power Plant No.2 is 10MW. The total is 30.4 MW.
• The annual amount of generation is 134.482 Million Kilowatt Hours by design.
• If the project finishes, the households of Nyaung Shwe, Shan State (South) and the surrounding villages will be supplied electricity. So, it is needed to implement within the period assessed for this project.
• About 500 local people will gain job opportunities during the construction period and 30 Nos. of Engineers will gain job opportunities during the operation period after finishing this project. And it will be aided for economic development. 2% of annual net profit will be used for CSR as environmental conservation and social programs. So, it is not only promoted to regional development but also national development in the other hand.
• MOEE honoures for signing agreement to purchase electricity generated from Upper Belu Chaung Hydropower Plant Project.

          Then, Managing Director U Khin Maung Win from EPGE and Managing Director U Khaing Oo from the New Energy Oasis Development signed in the agreement contract for purchasing electricity generated from Upper Belu Chaung Hydropower Plant and then exchanged mutually.
