Union Minister U Win Khaing inspects CNG Refilling Stations (Pale and Htauk Kyant) and No. 4 Fertilizer Factory (Myaungdagar)

              Union Minister for Ministry of Electricity and Energy, along with Permanent Secretary U Tin Maung Oo and officials concerned, inspected CNG filling station No. 008 of Myanmar Oil and Gas Enterprise in Pale Township Yangon Region on 30 December in the morning.

              The Union Minister and party then inspected safety measures at No. 042 CNG filling station in Htauk Kyant. General Manager (CNG) and officials reported a brief about works they are conducting. MOGE Managing Director U Myo Myint Oo provided additional explanations. Union Minister asked officials to follow the standard operating procedure (SOP) for the stations to ensure worksite safety and to prevent an outbreak of fire.

              MOGE has opened 46 CNG filling stations, 41 in Yangon Region, two in Mandalay Region, and three in Magway Region, which are selling about 23 million cubic feet of natural gas to 28,299 Natural Gas Vehicles (NGVs) daily. As the current price of CNG is about three times lower than diesel and petrol, benefiting the transportation of passengers and goods via NGVs. MOGE is planning to equip refilling stations with modern compressors to speed up time taken for filling gas.

              Union Minister U Win Khaing also visited the No. 4 fertilizer factory (Myaungdakar) under Myanma Petrochemical Enterprise (MPE) in Hmawby. During the visit, Myanma Petrochemical Enterprise Managing Director U Aung Myint and the head of factory presented a report on the future production plans of the factory at the assembly hall. Afterwards, the Union Minister gave instructions on boosting the production capacity of the factory. He visited the factory’s Central Control Room where the factory operation has been controlled by Distributed Control System (DCS) and production area.

              No. 4 fertilizer factory (Myaungdakar) is located on 218.9 acres of the total factory area in Myaungdakar Village, Hmawby Township and started operation on 5 December, 2010. About 380 to 400 tons of urea are manufactured by consuming natural gas from Ahpyauk and Nyaungdon daily and sold by tendering process. MOEE is planning to produce urea more and more for agriculture sector from that factory.

              In the afternoon, Union minister also inspected two fuel filling stations in Insein and Hmawby Townships and gave instructions to follow Oil and Petroleum Products Law and practice to prevent outbreak of fire, to distribute in full weight and good quality.
