       U Wn Khaing ,Union Minister for MOEE who was visiting in Beijing, Peoples Republic of China  (PRC), to participate in roundtable meeting of 2^nd  Belt and Road Initiative Forum , attended the Singing Ceremony of Recognition Memorandum on Complete discussion regarding to contract  PPA for Kyaukphyu Gas fired Power Plant Project held  in Shgangrila Hotel, Beijing on 28^th April, 2019 in the afternoon.

        In this ceremony, accompanying were Union Minister U Thant Sin Maung for Ministry of Transport and Communications, Myanmar Ambassador U Thit Lin Ohn, Chinese Ambassador Mr. Hong Liang , Permanent Secretary U Soe Thein for Ministry of Transport and Communications, Director General Daw Mi Mi Khaing for Department of Electric Power Planning and officials from Myanmar Embassy , Chairman Mr. Sun Hongshai for power Construction Corporation of China and responsible persons from related companies. Chairman Mr. Sheng  Yuming for Power China Resources Ltd.(SINO HYDRO) and Chairman Dr. Sein Myint for Myanmar Local Co; Supreme Trading Company Limited, signed the Recognition Memorandum in front of Myanmar Ambassador U Thit Lin Ohn and Chinese Ambassador Mr. Hong Liang.

          Kyaukphyu Gas Fired Power Plant Project will be constructed in Kyaukphyu township, Rakhine State, and consume  natural gas from Shwe Project . MOEE has given Notice to Proceed by the permission of Union Government. It is one of the essential projects for Myanmar-China Economic Corridor. After completion of this project, it would be support to fulfill 135 MW for development of Rakhine State.
