Regional Government for the Development of Electric Sector

          The coordination meeting for Development of Electric Sector was held with H.E. Union Minister U Win Khaing and Ministers for Electricity, Industry & Transport of States/ Regional Government on (29-1-2018).

          H.E. Union Minister U Win Khaing, Deputy Minister Dr. Tun Naing, States/ Regional Ministers and Permanent Secretary, Director Generals, Managing Directors, Chairmans and Departmental Heads under Ministry were attended to the meeting.

          H.E. Union Minister said that Ministry of Electricity & Energy emphasizes the complaint of  power consumers and know the Demand Forecast with performing State Owned Enterprise. Ministry of Electricity & Energy makes necessary arrangements to expand the electricity production with Independent Power Producer (IPP) and Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).

          Ministry of Electricity & Energy performs the projects with Government Fund and States/ Regional Fund and Transmission Line Projects with Government Fund. Ministry of Electricity & Energy will arrange the meeting at next six months again and will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of Electric Sector in States/ Regions. And we make the qualified electricity within the next three years for power consumers.

          Minister for Electricity, Industry & Transport of States/ Regional Government were presented and explained with power point presentation as the condition of current situations and on- going arrangements in their States/ Regions.

          After that, according to Ministers’ presentations, H.E. Union Minister U Win Khaing discussed on going arrangement with Union Government & State / Region Government.
