H.E. Deputy Minister Dr. Tun Naing accompanied by responsible persons of DPTSC and MESC inspected Natural Pozzolan Grinding Plant (Poppa) under DHPI in Kyaukpadaung Township, Mandalay Region, today.

          At the meeting room, Head of grinding plant explained that the plant is constructed with the aim to be produced and use natural pozzolan mixing with cement in concrete dam and Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC) dam and also explained the current status of production and distribution of natural pozzolan. Deputy Minister instructed to maintain the machines so that can supply when hydropower projects need natural pozzolan in time, to manage so that can sell to other Departments with reasonable price and the needs of work.

          And then Deputy Minister and his entourage inspected the place of raw materials and control room. MOEE discovered the natural pozzolan in Poppa, Mandalay Region and Budalin, Sagaing Division. Poppa pozzolan is qualified and so MOEE managed to produce from Poppa Region as priority.

          Yeywa and Upper Paunglaung RCC Concrete Dam were constructed using natural pozzolan. This natural pozzolan can use mixing cement in one storeyed brick house as well as in road, brick fence, brick tank and other infrastructure buildings. It will be economy and can get short construction period as advantages of using pozzolan.
