H.E. Union Minister U Win Khaing for Ministry of Electricity and Energy and  U Hla Moe Aung , Chief  Minister of Ayeyawaddy Region attended the inauguration ceremony of Sein Si Taw (1) in onshore block IOR-7

          Ministry of Electricity and Energy  is cooperating with international company to improve production  of oil and gas in offshore and onshore blocks.  Inauguration ceremony of Sein Si Taw (1) in onshore block IOR-7 on  4th Nov, 2018 was held at onshore block IOR-7, Myanaung Township, Hinthada District, Ayeyawaddy Region.

          In this ceremony, Union Minister U Win Khaing for Ministry of Electricity and Energy, U Hla Moe Aung , Chief  Minister of Ayeyawaddy Region, Deputy Minister Dr. Tun Naing, Ministers of Ayeyawaddy Region , Malaysia Ambassador to Myanmar, Mr. Zahairi Baharim , Departmental Heads, Invited Guests, Hluttaw Representatives, Mr. Chen  Kah Seong ,Vice President from PETRONS CARIGALI MYANMAR Inc. and participants,  responsible person from UNOG  Pte.,Ltd  and Petroleum Brunei Myanmar (PBMA) and   local person were presented.

          First of all, U Nyan Tun, Deputy Managing Director  of  MOGE  explained about the purpose  and process of exploration at briefing hall. Then Union Minister and  Chief  Minister started drilling by switching on the E09 Drilling Rig. Union Minister instructed to take care for safety at site and then Union Minister and Chief  Minister gave fruits basket as a present to responsible person from the site.

          MOGE signed the contract of Improved Petroleum  Recovery with PETRONS CARIGALI MYANMAR Inc., UNOG  Pte.,Ltd  and Petroleum Brunei Myanmar (PBMA)for exploration and production of oil and gas in Onshore block IOR-7, Myanaung Townships, Hintada District, Ayeyawaddy Region on 16-9-2014 at Shwepyithar Oil Field.  According to  the data  investigated  3D seismic survey work, good potential was found there and so they will drill to the depth 8,039 feet.

          MOGE discovered   Shwepyithar Oil Field in 1967 and  drilled  up to (70) wells and explored oil and gas.  Crude oil 4 mmbbl and  Gas  92,000mmft3 were explored from there.

          Then Union Minister and members arrived Shwepyithar Oil Field in the afternoon and responsible persons explained about the condition of oil field and Managing Director of MOGE made additional explanation and responsible person for No. (5) Fertilizer Plant( Kan Gyi Daunk) explained about the condition of the Plant. Responsible person for Myanaung Gas Turbine  also explained about the condition of the Plant and Managing Director of EPGE explained further more. Deputy Minister discussed about and Union Minister instructed the needs of work.
