Union Minister H.E. U Win Khaing inspects implementation of Kyaukse 145 MW Gas Fired Power Plant Project

            In Myanmar, as the progress percentage of electricity use annually is about 15 ~ 19 %, plans are arranging to be fulfilled electricity demand. In national grid, there are 3483 MW of maximum electricity generation, 2400 MW from 28 Hydropower plants and 1038 MW from 16 Thermal Power Industries. Furthermore MOEE is trying to fulfill electricity demand due to storage of water amount in dams. For implementation of Kyaukse 145 MW Gas Fired Power Plant by Power Gen Kyaukse Co., Ltd in Belin, Sintgaing Township, Kyaukse District, Mandalay Region, MOEE submitted to the Cabinet. H.E. U Win Khaing, Union Minister for MOEE accompanied by Deputy Minister H.E. Dr. Tun Naing and responsible persons inspected the current status of this project implementing in accordance with the permission of the Cabinet held on 6th November 2018, on 12th January 2019 in the morning.

            In briefing hall, U Khin Maung Win, Managing Director, Electric Power Generation Enterprise and responsible persons from PowerGen Kyaukse Co., Ltd explained the current status of this project. Union Minister instructed the needs of work and inspected around substation area.

            Kyaukse 145 MW Gas Fired Power Plant was situated in Belin, Sintgaing Township, Kyaukse District, Mandalay Region. This power plant was started in May 2018 by PowerGen Kyaukse Co., Ltd composed by Independent Power Producer(IPP), Build-Operate-Own (BOO) System. This power plant will be generated economically in February 2019 and will be distributed electricity from 230 kV Belin main substation to national grid. Installed capacity of this plant is totally (147.768) MW (18.471 MW x 8 Nos), guaranteed installed capacity is (145)MW and designed annual capacity is (1020) million unit. It is a project that will fulfill electricity demand for the nation. Nowadays, the whole project of about 72 % is completed.
