• The conducting coordination meeting on the plans for increasing electricity distribution in Sagaing Region and Chin State was held at Kalay Township, District Electric Engineer office meeting hall on 9-2-2019 at 16:00 hr.
• Union Minister H.E. U Win Khaing for Ministry of Electricity and Energy, Deputy Minister H.E. Dr. Tun Naing, Regional Minister of Electricity, Industrial and Communication U Than Nyunt Win, Permanent Secretary U Tin Maung Oo, Director Generals and Managing Directors of Departments and Enterprises, Departmental Heads, Regional / State Electric Engineers from Sagaing Region and Chin State, District Electric Engineers, transmission line manager (Gangaw) and Township Engineers were presented.
•  In opening speech, Union Minister pointed out:-
• Ministry of Electricity and Energy is performing to improve electrified households (electrification ratio) up to 55 % of the whole nation in 2020-2021.
• Managing to stable power system, to reduce electricity losses, to reduce electricity shutdown, to make electricity distribution in stable voltage.
• Need to manage evaluation on electricity demand in advance and to enhance distribution in Sagaing Region and Chin State.
• To upgrade image of Myanmar fully distribution to Tamu Township.
• Need to fulfill electricity demand of public touching closely with them.
• Need to manage considering in various ways to get enough electricity in self-area.
• To serve with full responsibility and accountability on the tasks.
• And then, ongoing plans and plan to reduce electricity losses, status of annual increased power consumption and electricity distribution were explained by Tamu District and Kalay District Electric Engineers.
• The status of ongoing works and electricity distribution in Region / State were explained by Electric Engineer of Sagaing Region and Chin State.
• The additional explanation was made by U Saw Win Maung, Managing Director, Electricity  Supply Enterprise.
• And then, arrangements for getting electricity in Maw-Laik, Homalin and Phaungpyin area, Northern Kalewa were explained by U Aye Kyaw, Director General, Department of Power Transmission & Supply Control.
• The additional explanation was made by Deputy Minister Dr.Tun Naing and Regional Minister of Electricity, Industrial and Communication U Than Nyunt Win.
• Union Minister fulfilled the needs and delivered concluded speech.
• And then, Union Minister and his members inspected 230 kV Kalay Main Substation Project in Kalay Township.
• The status of work performing were explained by U Min Naing, project Director (Northern), Department of Power Trasmission & Supply Control.
• The additional explanation was made by U Aye Kyaw, Director General, Department of Power Transmission & Supply Control.
• Union Minister instructed to complete the project in time, to work safety, to use qualified materials and to handle systematically.
• After completion of 230 kV Kalay Main Substation and Transmission Lines Projects, Kalay Township and surrounding areas will have more electricity as well as northern Sagaing, Tamu, Phaungpyin, Homalin and Khandi.
