Signing Ceremony for Construction Work Commissioning Agreement between ESE and (7) tender awarded companies for Bago Region(East), Kayan State, Mon State C1-WG, Bago Region(West) C1-W7, Ayeyarwaddy Region C1-W8 and Mandalay Region C1-W9 of National Electrification Plan (NEP)

  • Signing Ceremony for Construction Work Commissioning Agreement between ESE under MOEE and (7) tender awarded companies (Zeya & Associates Co.,Ltd, Now Engineering Co.,Ltd., Hitachi Soe Electric & Machinery Co.,Ltd, So Moe Than Co.,Ltd., JV of CNOOD Asia Limited & Danayazar Construction Co., Ltd., HT-LT Co., Ltd., and Aung Thaung Co.,Ltd., for NEP total villages (1630) in Bago Region (East, West), Ayeyarwaddy Region, Mandalay Region, Kayin State and Mon State which is performing by World Bank Loan was held at Minister Office meeting hall, Nay Pyi Taw, on 25.3.2019 at 13:00 hrs.
  • In this ceremony, Union Minister H.E U Win Khaing for MOEE, Deputy Minister H.E. Dr. Tun Naing, Permanent Secretary U Tin Maung Oo, Departmental Heads, Managing Director and Responsible persons from above-mentioned companies were attended.
  • Firstly, Union Minister H.E. U Win Khaing delivered an address as follows:-
  • MOEE is implementing National Electrification Plan (NEP) by using World Bank Loan US$ 310 million and performing for (5080) villages within 2 miles far from power system as first phase.
  • MOEE invited the International Competitive Bidding (ICB), regarding necessary transformers, concrete poles, insulators, cables, arms and accessories. They were arrived for (5080) villages as first phase list.
  • MOEE inspected and approved in accordance with the specification of World Bank so signing ceremony was held.
  • MOEE has distributed about 34% of total households in 2016, it will promote up to 50% of consumer end of 2019, and then MOEE has laid down a plan to distribute hundred percentage electricity across the nation in 2030.
  • NEP is a plan for country to get electricity coordinating with International Development Partner-IDP for receiving aid of international long-term supports.
  • This is an initial project to get Universal Electricity Access.
  • MOEE is performing the NEP plan first phase for (5080) villages within 2 miles far from power system in State/Region respectively to get Universal Electricity Loan from World Bank as per initial scheme of NEP plan.
  • The total households about (626,757) within total villages (5080) can get electricity by this first project when it has been completed, and will improve about 5.6 % Electrification Rate.
  • MOEE invited (12) Nos. of Tender for the first phase villages. This contract is signed together with sixth, seventh, eighth, and ninth contracts simultaneously for getting electricity (80726) households of (801) villages so that Electrification Rate will be 48.01 % in Bago Region, (1984) households of (19)villages so that Electrification Rate will be 28.48% in Kayin State, (8584) households of (50)villages so that Electrification Rate will be 53.21% in Mon State, (69794) households of (612)villages so that Electrification Rate will be 22.64 % in Ayeyarwaddy Region, (22340) households of (148) villages so that Electrification Rate will be 59.98 % in Mandalay Region, totally electrified households (183428) in (1630) villages after completion of this project.
  • MOEE has being performing to get electricity within 5 miles far villages from power system by this loan as 2nd phase, and has been arranging the second phase projects to be finished in 2021 end of September.
  • The first phase (5080) villages within 2 miles far from power system and the second phase (4000) villages within 5 miles totally (1032411) households of (9080) villages would have electrified by that loan.
  • MOEE is performing to reach Electrification Rate as 50 % at end of 2019 that means Electrification Rate will be increased 9.5% across the nation.
  • Electrification Rate will be up to 55% in the whole nation in 2021.
  • Tender awarded companies have to start work after making seismic survey.
  • Similarly have to perform for good quality, work safety, to complete in time limite, according to rules and regulations of contracts.
  • And then, U Saw Win Maung, Managing Director from Electricity Supply Enterprise (ESE) explained regarding the plans to be performed of the projects.
  • Finally, U Saw Win Maung, Managing Director from Electricity Supply Enterprise (ESE) and responsible persons from 6 companies, for construction tender 6 Nos., U Soe Min Tun, Acting CEO from MESC and responsible person from (1) company for one construction tender were respectively signed and exchanged the contract and posed for a commemorative group photo.
