H.E. Union Minister U Win Khaing for Ministry of Electricity and Energy inspects electricity and energy sector in Magway Region

          H.E. U Win Khaing, Union Minister for Ministry of Electricity and Energy, Deputy Minister Dr. Tun Naing, Magway Region Minister of Natural Resources, Environment, Electricity and Energy U Myint Zaw, Permanent Secretary U Tin Maung Oo from Ministry of Electricity and Energy and departmental responsibilities inspected the electricity and energy sector in Magway Region on 19th May, 2019.

          Firstly, Union Minister and his team arrived at Htauksharpin Oil Field, Myanma Oil and Gas Enterprise, Minbu Township on 19th May, 2019. At the briefing hall, general managers from oil fields in Magway Region explained and reported about data of oil fields and operational status of oil field and Deputy Minister Dr. Tun Naing concluded the requirements. Then, H.E. Union Minister said

  • to perform by using modern technologies to be improved the oil production rate by concluding the wells decreasing production rate according to the oil field
  • to systematically operate water injection
  • it is needed to operate better seismic survey in order to accurately predict the underground geology
  • similarly, to attempt to produce more and more natural gas
  • it is to effectively use Corporate-Social Responsibility implemented according to the oil fields by co-operating with the local people and regional authorities
  • to operate for providing garbage so that to systematically forsaken  the waste and for greening the oil fields and surrounding villages during CSR operations
  • as the hand-dug well law is already enacted, it is needed to cooperate with concerned departments to be systematically operate
  • to define the methods to be used when digging the hand-dug well
  • to implement by  drawing plans to teach the digging methods to company workers by the regional groups
  • it is needed to cooperate by our ministry

In the afternoon, H.E. Union Minister, Chief minister of Magway Region and his team arrived at Magway Main Substation under Department of Power Transmission and System Control and inspected the project area and the place where natural gas pipeline which will be linked when moving the natural gas power plant (67 MW) from the natural gas power plant (67 MW x 2) operating by VPower Holdings (Singapore) Pte.Ltd. using natrual gas from Shwe Offshore, Myaingyan District, Mandalay Region to Magway Main Substation by the cost of company to fulfill in time the increasing electricity usage in the next summer, 2020. And, responsible persons explained and reported. H.E. Union Minister ordered the requirements over the reports and then negotiated and cooperated with the regional government.

Moving 67 MW power plant is one of the projects operating to fulfill the electricity required across the country in the summer, 2020 during the short-term period.

Next, while meeting with Region/District/Township electrical engineers, heads of substations in the substation meeting hall, head of Magway Main Substation reported about substation data and the electricity supply status, Magway Regional electrical Engineer and District electrical engineer reported about electricity supply status in the Magway Region and ongoing plan and then, Managing Director U Saw Win Maung (Electricity Supply Enterprise) made additional explanation. H.E. Union Minster said over the reports -

  • to supply more electricity in the Magway Region and estimate the electricity requirements which will be increasing
  • it is needed to manage and operate not to loss and failure electricity
  • it is needed to operate to be fulfilled with the norm  over the planning to increase and supply electrification ratio from 29.37 % to 37.97% in the end of 2019 in accordance with rural power supply in the region
  • to systematically and safely operate by wearing defined safety clothes while operating
  • to respectfully treat  to the people because Ministry of Electricity and Energy (MOEE) has to closely and directly communicate with them
  • to fulfill electricity requirements as much as MOEE can do
  • to systematically arrange the lounge and car parking area for the public  who will come and pay monthly meter bill to the office
  • to systematically plant the shade trees and eatable trees at the surrounding of office building
  • to use the qualified equipment and tools for the transmission lines and the substation
  • to regularly check the fitness of the transformers, the substation tools and equipment, the transmission lines for long term firmness of the substations and for decreasing electrical shortage
  • to seriously operate to be the least electricity shortage time and the least impact to  the public when making substation maintenance
