H.E. U Win Khaing attends the opening ceremony of LPG Safety Training Course No.2 to systematically and safely operate liquefied Petroleum Gas – LPG in importing, storing, distributing and selling and meets with the private sector distributed and sold LPG

          The opening ceremony of LPG Safety Training Course No.2 conducted by Myanma Petrochemical Enterprise, Ministry of Electricity and Energy, was held at 2:30 PM on 17th February, 2019 at No.1 Refinery (Thanlyin), Yangon Region for systematically and safely operating Liquefied Petroleum Gas – LPG in importing, storing, distributing and selling.

          In this ceremony, H.E. U Win Khaing, Union Minister for Ministry of Electricity and Energy, departmental heads, trainers, responsible person from LPG distributing private companies and 60 of trainees were attended.

          Firstly, H.E. U Win Khaing delivered an opening speech –

  • The objective of this training  is to update the human resources needed for local and especially, it is needed to prepare the related trainings by sector-wise to develop human resources in addition to technology and investments for updating the LPG Industrial because the nation expects and operates the LPG as a strategic energy
  • when LPG is operated as an energy resource, it is aiming and operating to be widely used in industrial sector, transport sector, rural sector, as well as civil kitchen sector
  • furthermore, it is the invitation to the entrepreneurs for fully transition to private sector after reducing the government involvement in LPG sector
  • it must be proportionally operated  energy consumption by promoting the usage of LPG as fuel energy
  • If LPG can be widely used across the country, it can be reduced the electrical usage, helped to be fully used in the other required places on the other side and reduced the environmental pollution and deforestation by substitution instead of firewood and charcoal
  • It is aiming and operating the LPG to be widely used as fuels in industrialization and other business as well as the utensil by the people
  • Ministry of Electricity and Energy (MOEE) is trying to supply LPG to the rural area in 2020 and operating to use 1 Million of households
  •  As the first stage, it can be supplied LPG to 1.5 Millions of households in 2018
  • Furthermore, it is operating to open LPG Auto Gas Filling Station to be used in driving vehicles with LPG
  • By using the LPG as the fuels in vehicles, it can be reduced the usage of gasoline, diesel and natural gas, so it is planning to distribute LPG with the reasonable price
  • It is getting many advantages by widely using LPG but it is facing with the challenges in safely distribution and usage, market, price and high quality
  • As the main challenges it is remaining to enact LPG laws and regulations
  • It is needed to widely operate the knowledge sharing to the people using LPG
  • The weak point is limited filling station which can be supplied the LPG, the distribution across the country 
  • It is needed to know the knowledge about the LPG and the method to use to be safely used by LPG distributers and the consumers
  • So it is sharing the knowledge to the staffs from LPG companies and the factories under MOEE by conducting the LPG Safety Training Course No.2
  • By sharing the knowledge get from this training to LPG consumers, it is to be operated to be the least accident directly or indirectly due to LPG handling
  • Now, most of the accidents caused by the LPG is getting no knowledge about LPG, the carelessly usage and the little awareness about LPG
  • In this training, it is widely teaching the usage of LPG, the requirements for distribution LPG, car conversion kit for using LPG in the vehicles to be safely used, the installation and usage from the technicians in according with the related subject in theory and practice
  • It is needed to harmoniously cooperate between government and private companies and fast organize the association of oil and gas businessmen to be widely and safely used, then H.E. Union Minister U Win Khaing met with the trainers and trainees one by one

              Then, LPG distributing private company reported the facing challenges while operating the business to H.E. Union Minister. Union Minister filled the requirements and took the photo session.
