H.E. Deputy Minister Dr. Tun Naing for Ministry of Electricity and Energy accompanied by responsible persons inspected Yeywa Hydropower Plant situated on the river basin of Myitnge near Yeyaman Village in Kyaukse Township, Mandalay Region on 19th July, 2019 in the morning.
Firstly, Deputy Minister inspected maintenance works of Thrust block and Turbine runner of No. (3) Turbine .U Than Naing Oo, Managing Director for EPGE and responsible persons reported to the current work of power plant. According to their report, Deputy Minister gave instructions such to finish the maintenance works of No.(3) Turbine in time, to be sustainable power plant, to take care safety for generation in full load, to inspect and maintain power plant as efficiently. And then, Deputy Minister also inspected the current status of electricity distribution via control room. After that, Deputy Minister and his companions inspected the water inflow and storage in reservoir, intake and spillway.
Yeywa Hydropower Plant is situated on the river basin of Myitnge near Yeyaman Village in Kyaukse Township, Mandalay Region. It is generating by 4 Nos. of 197.8 MW (Francis Turbine). The total is 790 MW and 3550 kWh in annually according to the design. It was constructed commencing from 2001 and completed in 2010. It is transmitting to National Grid by 2 lines of (230 kV Yeywa-Belin) and 2 lines of (230 kV Yeywa-Meiktila) .
