The Agreements Signing Ceremony of the Development of the Discovery Area in Offshore Block A-6 between Myanmar Oil and Gas Enterprise (MOGE) under the Ministry of Electricity and Energy and MPRL E&P Pte Ltd., Woodside Energy (Myanmar) Pte Ltd., and Total E&P Myanmar was held at Kempinski Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw on 16th December, 2019 at 6:00 PM.
The signing ceremony was attended by Union Minister for Electricity and Energy U Win Khaing, Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Own Win, Union Minister for Planning, Finance and Industry U Soe Win, Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations U Thaung Tun, Union Attorney-General U Tun Tun Oo, Pyithu Hluttaw Electricity and Energy Development Committee Chairman U Kyi Moe Naing, Amyotha Hluttaw Construction, Industry, Electricity and Energy Committee Chairman U Saw Moe Myint, Deputy Minister for Electricity and Energy U Khin Maung Win and Dr. Tun Naing, Ayeyawady Region Government’s Electricity, Energy, Industry and Transport Minister U Win Htay, Departmental Heads from MOEE, CEO from MPRL E&P Pte. Ltd., U Moe Myint, Executive Vice President Development from Woodside Energy (Myanmar) Pte Ltd., Ms. Meg O’Neill, Senior Vice President from Total E&P Myanmar Mr. Javier RIELO and Responsible Person.
Firstly, Union Minister for Electricity and Energy U Win Khaing delivered a speech, calling for successful cooperation of partner companies, safety measures and commercial production commencing at the end of 2023. The Myanmar National-owned signed a production sharing contract with MOGE in 2007, and discovered natural gas for commercial production. It partnered with the Woodside Energy (Myanmar) Pte Ltd., and the Total E&P Myanmar in 2015 and 2018 for discovering and exploration at the block. The offshore block A-6 is a very reliable project for domestic natural gas consumption, and that it is jointly implemented by the private companies.
And then, responsible person from MOGE, MPRL E&P Pte Ltd., Woodside Energy (Myanmar) Pte Ltd., and Total E&P Myanmar spoke a remark respectively.
Next, Managing Director for MOGE U Myo Myint Oo and Country Manager from MPRL E&P Pte Ltd., U Sithu Moe Myint, Asset Manager from Woodside Energy (Myanmar) Pte Ltd., Ms. Rebecca Lewis and General Manager from Total E&P Myanmar Mr. Romaric Roignan signed the contracts, changed vice versa and took the photo session.
