U Khin Maung Win, Deputy Minister (Electric) for Minister of Electricity and Energy accomplished by departmental heads inspected Hlaw Gar Power Plant, Ywarma Power Plant, Ahlone Power Plant, Tharkayta Power Plant, Thilawa Power Plant and new power plant projects within Yangon Region to fulfill the electricity demands which will be increased in the summer, 2020 on 10th November, 2019.
Firstly, Deputy Minister and his entourage reached Hlaw Gar Natural Gas Power Plant in Mingalardon Township. In the meeting hall of this plant, the responsible persons reported about the data of the power plant, the annual electricity generation conditions, the conditions of power plant maintenance, the status of the distribution via national grid, the conditions of upgrading power plant by Golden Green Energy Co.,Ltd. and the conditions of upgrading power plant by JICA loan. Deputy Minister ordered that it is to regularly maintain for the reliabilities of power plant, to regularly maintain and operate the substation reliability to be stable the power system, to effort the substation upgrades and power plant upgrades in order to complete in time, to make sure that the quality of the materials using for the project meet the quality standard. And, they inspected the control room and the status of the operation of the generator, the upgrading process of GIS E-house and 33 KV Switchyard with Gas Insulated Switch gear (GIS), the operational status of generator from 50W MCP power plant and the electricity supply within this substation.
Then, Deputy Minister and his entourage arrived at the Ywama Natural Gas Power Plant, Innsein Township. In the meeting hall of this power plant, the responsible persons explained about the power plant data, the annual generation status, the maintenance of power plant and the upgrading power plant by JICA Loan. Over the explanation, Deputy Minister ordered to carefully and seriously operate the regular maintenance to the current running power plants because the summer will come soon, to endeavor to be completed the upgrading process of the substation in time within the dead line and then, they had a tour to the control room and the generation and operation status of power plant.
Next, Deputy Minister and his entourage arrived at Ahlone Natural Gas Power Plant, Ahlone Township. In the meeting hall, the foreign technicians and the responsible persons from CEEC Co.,Ltd. reported about the building situation of the new 151 MW Power plant implemented within the power plant compound, the status of current power plants, the distribution status. Deputy Minister said that it is to strenuously effort materials, civil construction works and installation process to be completed in the next summer in time when 151 MW new power plant implements, it is to carefully operate for workplace safety. Ministry of Electricity and Energy is to co-operate to take out them from the port when materials for project will be arrived. And He ordered to regularly maintain the operation to be strong reliability of the power generator and to be stable the power system. Then, they inspected the process of pile in the 151 MW new power plant project area and Deputy Minister ordered to generate and distribute electricity as soon as possible.
Next, Deputy Minister and his entourage arrived at Thilawa Natural Gas Power Plant, Kyauktan Township. In the meeting hall, the responsible persons explained about the power plant data, the running status of power generator, the 350 MW (LNG to Power)new power plant implementation, the status of electricity incoming to the current substation after the 25 MW Combine Cycle Power Plant is completed by JICA loan. Deputy Minister ordered to carefully operate the regular maintenance the power generator to be sustainably generate the electricity, to emphasize to be completed the 350 MW (LNG to Power) new power plant as soon as possible and inspected the status of connecting to this substation when the new power plant projects are completed.
Then, Deputy Minister and his entourage arrived at the project area which 400 MW (LNG to Power) new power plant will be implemented within the Tharkayta Natural Gas Power Plant area in Tharkayta Township. The responsible persons reported the status of step-by-step implementation of the power plant on this area. Over the report, Deputy Minister ordered to emphasize to be completed the civil construction works within dead line and to meet the quality standard. And, they inspected the operation status in the construction area of 66kV GIS Substation which is implemented by JICA loan. Then, foreign technicians and responsible persons from Merubeni Corporation and Mitsubishi Corporation reported about the implementation status of 400 MW (LNG to Power) Power Plant, the construction status of 66kV GIS Substation implemented by JICA loan and the rehabilitation of three power generators in the meeting hall and U Than Naing Oo, Managing Director for Electric Power Generation Enterprise, explained the additional comment over the report. Deputy Minister ordered to be complemented the construction of the new power plant within dead line, to be met the materials for project with standard quality, to be safe the project area and to operate to be generated the electricity from the one of three power generator which are being operated the rehabilitation in the next summer.
During that tours, Deputy Minister said that the seven new projects namely, Magway, Shwe Taung, Kyunchaung, Ahlone, Kyaukphyu, Thanlyin and Tharketa are being implemented to fully fill the electricity demands which will be increased in the next summer, to regularly check and operate the reliability of power generator to generate electricity with full capacity and he would like to exhort to try to be completed the projects according with the intended standards.
