Energy inspects Upper Keng Tawng Hydropower Project and

Namhsam Substation

      H.E. Union Minister U Win Khaing accompanied by Deputy Minister Dr. Tun Naing and U Swe Thein  , Minister for Electricity, Energy and Industry of Shan State and Departmental Heads inspected construction site of Upper Keng Tawng Hydropower Project (HPP) implemented by Department of Hydropower Implementation .It is  located on Nam Tain Chaung about 14 miles of South West of Keng Tawng . The trip means  to supply more electricity across the  Nation and South & West Shan State. Main Dam length is (1800) ft and height is (230) ft. It is Zone Typed Rock filled Dam and full storage volume is (104,000) Acre-feet with installed capacity of 51MW (17MW ×3 Nos) . This project would be generate (267) Million KWhrs annually. It is effective project for these region.

        Similarly , Keng Tawng Hydropower Project is located on Nam Tain Chaung  far about 18 miles of South  of Keng Tawng . It generates  54MW (installed capacity)and (377.6)  Million  KWhrs per annum.

        It is planned to complete in 2020-2021 year.  The electricity which would be generated by Upper Keng Tawng HPP and the electricity generating from Keng Tawng HPP will distribute not only National Grid but also East Shan State regions including Keng Tong. Ministry of Electricity and Energy is implementing 230kV  Namhsan-Mine Pyin- Keng Tong  Trasmission line (155 miles) and 230 kV Switch Yard Extension of Namhsan Substation and it is planned to complete at the end of year 2019. Similarly , Ministry of Electricity and Energy is implementing 230kV  Substation in Keng Tong and Mine Pyin  together with transmission line construction . The Union Minister was reported about the Upper Keng Tawng HPP  by U Toe Lwin , Director (Construction No.5) and  briefed up by U San Wai , Director General of Department of Hydropower Implementation. The Union Minister and party looked into construction site and gave instruction needed  to be careful about safely and to be implemented intime in accordance with work program . 

        And then , The Union Minister was reported about transmission and distribution of 230 kV Namhsan Substation , the maintenance work of transmission lines, the construction of 230 kV Namhsan-Mine Pyin- Keng Tong  Trasmission line (155miles) and  Switch Yard Extension by Director (Department of Electric Power Transmission and System Control) and briefed up by Deputy Director General and  Director General, Department of Power Transmission and System Control. Union Minister and party looked into construction site and gave instruction on the needs .
