Ministry of Electricity and Energy held the signing ceremony of giving a Notice to Proceed to implement Shwe Li (3) Hydropower Project which is located on the Shwe Li River about (12) miles from Momeik Town in the northern Shan State at Horizontal Lake View Hotel, Nay Pyi Taw in the evening of 5th September 2018.
In this meeting, Union Minister U Win Khaing for Ministry of Electricity and Energy, Union Ministers, Chairmen and Secretaries for Pyithu Hluttaw Electricity and Energy Development Committee and Amyothar Hluttaw Construction, Industry, Electricity and Energy Development Committee, Deputy Minister Dr. Tun Naing, Permanent Secretary and departmental heads, H.E. Mr. Oliver Richard, French Ambassador to Myanmar, Mr. Kazuyuki, Japan Economic Consul and responsible persons of Electricite De France S.A (EDF) from French and Aye Yar Hinthar Hydropower Co.,Ltd from Myanmar, special guests and responsible persons were presented.
At that ceremony Union Minister U Win Khaing delivered an opening speech as following-
And then H.E. Mr. Oliver Richard, French Ambassador to Myanmar, Mr. Kazuyuki, Japan Economic Consul and Mr. Marianne Laigneau, Senior Executive Vice President of Electricite De France S.A (EDF) delivered “Thanks ”for giving a Notice to Proceed to implement Shwe Li (3) Hydropower Project.
And then people who presented the ceremony were shown video clip for Shwe Li (3) Hydropower Project that implemented by Ministry. U Tin Maung Oo, Permanent Secretary for Ministry of Electricity and Energy Electricite De France S.A (EDF) from French and Marubini Corporation from Japan signed a Notice to Proceed and took group photos.
Shwe Li (3) Hydropower Project is located in Shan State and one of dams on Shwe Li River. Shwe Li (3) Hydropower Project (671 MW ) will generate effectively using water from Shwe Li (1) Hydropower Plant (600 MW) and Shwe Li (2) Hydropower Project (520 MW) which is a future project. The installed capacity of all Hydropower Projects on Shwe Li River will be 1791 MW and 8,000 MW ~ 10,000 MW which is future electricity demand for 2025-2026 will be fulfill in a way. About 60,000 no. of Households will be electrified and electricity demand for industrial development will be fulfill. So it will support National Electricity Plan.
