With the aims to reduce electricity demand, substitute the usage of woods in order to reduce deforestation and supply public health with purified cooking, MOEE is undertaking pilot projects of using LPG throughout the entire nation. Because of that, Union Minister U Win Khaing, accompanied by Deputy Minister Dr. Tun Naing and officials concerned met with local people at Shantae tract LPG Shop under MPE (Myanma Petrochemical Enterprise) in Meihtila District, Mandalay Region.

In his address, Union Minister said that MOEE is performing and coordinating with the internal and external investments from state-owned to private-owned for promoting works in LPG sector to use effectively with less price for households and industries. In this process, MOEE demonstrates the ways of using effectively and safely to the public because it is necessary to be applied systematically by the public. MOEE has a plan to distribute LPG to one million households in 2020. Consuming LPG widely can reduce the electricity demand and it also means substituting using fire-woods for deforestation in the other hand. So, MOEE is managing to distribute upto the undeveloped villages.

And then, Managing Director for Myanma Petrochemical Enterprise (MPE) U Aung Myint gave LPG cylinders to local people, refilled gas to the old LPG cylinders and explained to handle them safely. The local people expressed words of thanks to easily and quickly cook using LPG.

Next, Union Minister and party handed over 230 LPG cylinders donated by Elite Petrochemical Co., Ltd. to the villagers and official concerned from MPE demonstrated how to handle LPG cylinders safely and systematically.
