The people of Yathedaung, Buthedaung and Maungdaw in Rakhine State use electricity from national grid for development of their socio-economic life. As MOEE is constructing 66 kV Ponnakyun- Yathedaung- Buthedaung- Maungdaw transmission line (64.31) miles and 66 kV substation projects, 66 kV Ponnakyun- Yathedaung substation extension and 66/11kV 5MVA Yathedaung substation were completed in first phase 1530 households in Yathedaung and 3374 households in Buthedaung have been electrified round the clock from Yathedaung substation via national grid commencing from 15th March, 2018.
After MOEE has been constructed 66 kV Yathedaung- Buthedaung transmission line (33)miles and 66/11 kV 5 MVA Buthedaung substation, 1192 households in Buthedaung have been electrified starting from 31st October, 2018 (16:38) hr. And MOEE is attempting to distribute to surrounding 9 villages (including Ganamar Village, Satitaw Village etc.) from national grid.
