              The coordination meeting for the projects implementing by MOEE in 2018-2019 Budget Year was held at 09:00 AM, on December 17, 2018 in the meeting room, Office 27.

              Union Minister U Win Khaing, Deputy Minister Dr. Tun Naing, Permanent Secretary U Tin Maung Oo, Chairmen from Corporations, Director Generals from Departments, Managing Directors from Enterprises and Divisional Engineers from Regions and States attended this meeting.

              First of all, Union Minister delivered an opening speech that in electricity generation and distribution portion, as electricity losses is concerned with all, so it must be operated to be better than current situation by analyzing technical flaws, losses and efficiency. It is needed to carry out public services effectively. Electricity Supply Enterprise, one of departments and corporations under MOEE, as it is main to contact with public, State and Regional electrical engineer offices need to actively participate in servicing works. Electricity sector plays a vital role to regarding to international investment. In order to invest in a country, a foreign company always takes priority over electricity sector. MOEE must have responsibility on electricity for international investments.

              Moreover, H.E. also revealed that, State and Regional electricity engineers need to actively attract investors with responsibility and accountability in accordance with legal procedures. And it is needed to have optimistic views on the cases that are joined hands with respective Chief Ministers and Ministers. Divisional Engineers need to perform by decisions of State and Region Government in some cases that does not need to reach Union Level and the most important thing is to follow the rules and regulations abide by Ministry. Furthermore, to know weaknesses and powerful points of staff so that to achieve aims and missions applying their behaviors. Today, the cases such as Budget, Audit and Accountant become the focus of attention, so all Divisional Engineers should emphasize taking actions in those issues.

              Then, H.E. expressed that now is the second time meeting for Divisional Engineers because it is needed to give comments on performances after first time. There is a safe and qualified Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for public to utilize. To follow the SOP, Divisional Engineers have to explain clearly and openly to every rank of staff starting from meter-clerks/line men. It is to be attempted and operated in distribution electricity more and more.

              And then, State and Regional electrical engineers reported to the status of getting and distribution electricity within their regions, operating and finishing status of projects consisting in 2018-2019 budget year, the highest load of year by year and future plans. Later, Managing Director, U Saw Win Maung from Electricity Supply Enterprise made addition explanation about the doing status of States and Regions.

              After that, Chief Executive Officers from Yangon Electricity Supply Corporation (YESC) and Mandalay Electricity Supply Corporation (MESC) presented the doing plans in 2018-2019 budget year and future plans and Deputy Minister Dr. Tun Naing gave comments for projects to be operated by States and Regions. After hearing reports, Union Minister gave instructions that it is needed to lead on behalf of Ministry in ongoing power transmission lines and substation projects operating within States and Regions. It is to be operated to develop electrical sector in respective region by electrical engineers of States and Regions and it is needed to emphasize in reducing losses. And, it has already shown about the projects to increase electrification ratio, so it is needed to operate and accomplish that projects.
