             National Renewable Energy Committee  (2/2019) meeting was held  at 10:00 am on August 26, Ministry of Electric and Energy; Office No (27), at the meeting hall .

            Firstly, Chairman of National Renewable Energy Committee, Union Minister for Electricity  and Energy, U Win Khaing gave an opening Speech such  as the Presidential Office comprised the National Renewable Energy Committee on february in 2019. The first meeting of the Committee was held  in March , 2019. After the first working session of the committee, significant progress was made in the electricity and renewable energy sectors. The ministry is making special efforts to achieve the goal of obtaining 50% electricity of the Nationwide by the end of this year. Furthermore, we have been able to connect 230 KV power lines to the Myawaddy border areas and we are working to supply Kengtung. MOEE would be electrified  nearly all  the towns in Rakhine State and  performed the priority of extending power lines to Dawei-Myeik in Tanintharyi Region. In renewable energy sector, We opened Myanmar's first Minbu solar power project. We are also planning to supply electricity to off grid areas such as Manaung and Cocoe Island with solar power. Currently, local and international companies also received numerous proposals for the implementation of renewable energy projects in each region and state. The legislative and regulatory framework needed for the rapid implementation of these projects had to be discussed at today's meeting. Minister told  that electric power generation could not be relied solely on hydropower as a result of climate change and renewable energy is the way to generate various energy. So we need to use the  renewable energy more and more. The issue of electricity and energy is important roles of politically, economically, social and climate change and to consider the possible of energy resources and technologies for the whole national to be electrified in 2030, to collaborate the National Renewable Energy Committee and related organizations  for the developing of renewable energy.

            After that, Deputy Director General for Department of Electric Power Planning U Hein Htet presented proposals for the development of the working committee to support the National Renewable Energy Committee and proposals for renewable energy projects. Member of BOD, Yangon Electricity Supply Corporation, U Min Sein presented the legal advice on renewable energy.

         The National Renewable Energy Committee members and attendess discussed their sectoral cooperation and Chairman of the National Renewable Energy Committee, Union Minister for Electricity and Energy U Win Khaing gave the conclusion speech.

          At the meeting, Chairman of National Renewable Energy Committee, Union Minister for Electricity and Energy U Win Khaing, committee members of Union Attorney General Tun Tun Oo; Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council; Dr Myo Aung, Chairman of the Pyithu Hluttaw Electricity and Energy development Committee, U Kyi Moe Naing, Chairman of National Assembly Construction, Industry, Electricity and Energy development committee; Saw Moe Myint, Deputy Minister for Education U Win Maw Tun; Permanent Secretaries for Ministry of Agriculture Livestock and Irrigation; Ministry of Transport and Communications Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment; Ministry of Electricity and Energy; Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Commerce and Ministry of Planning and Finance; Director General of Department of Rural Development and Ministry of Industry, Director General, Chairman and  Managing Director, Corporation under Electricity and Energy, Representatives from Mandalay City Development Committee; Myanmar Engineering Association, Myanmar Architecture Association, Myanmar Renewable Energy Association and Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry were presented.
