Under the instruction of getting electricity as soon as possible in Rathedaung, Buthedaung, Maungdaw and surrounding area, Ministry of Electricity and Energy has started to construct 66kV Ponnakyun- Rathedaung transmission line (22.2 miles), 230 kV Ponnakyun- Substation Swith Bay Extension and 66/11 kV 5MVA Rathedaung Substation since September, 2017. They were already completed and so transmitted via National Grid to Rathedaung by 25th March, 2018.
Addition to this, due to continuous construction of Transmission Line and transformers, (26) villages and (5918) households among (196) villages and (28594) households around Rathedaung will be electrified via National Grid soon. So, In Rakhine State, socioeconomic of the public and small industrial works will be developed in near future.
