H.E. Deputy Minister(Energy) Dr. Tun Naing accompanied by U Hla Tun, Mon State Minister for Electricity, Energy and Industry, Departmental Heads and Responsible Persons inspected exchanging and rehabilitating of Kampauk- Myinekalay 20'' Natural Gas Pipe Line Project in Phado village and Hmein Ga Nein Village, Mudon Township, Mon State on 9th Nov, 2019.
Firstly, Deputy Minister and his companion arrived to the project area of exchanging and rehabilitating of Kanpauk-Myinekalay 20'' Natural Gas Pipe Line implemented by Myanma Oil and Gas Enterprise (MOGE). In this project area, representatives of MOGE explained about the current status of exchanging and rehabilitating of Kanpauk-Myinekalay 20'' Natural Gas Pipe Line Project in Phado village and Hmein Ga Nein Village, Mudon Township, Mon State. Deputy Minister instructed that MOGE need to perform targeted work plan carefully in time, to take care of safety, to follow Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), to inform widely to the local people do and don’t matters of this pipe line and to show the notification sign at the visible area. After that, Deputy Minister and his companion inspected around the pipe line project area.
In upcoming fiscal year, renovation of pipe line will implement by MOGE and PTTEP Co., Ltd. Natural gas produced from Zawtika Offshore Project and transmitted to Mawlamyine, Myinekalay, Thahton and Yangon area with Kanpauk-Myinekalay-Yangon 20'' Natural Gas Pipe Line from Kanpauk area and total length is 336 miles. Kanpauk- Myinekalay Pipe Line had already implemented in 2000-2001 fiscal year and Myinekalay-Yangon Pipe Line had already implemented in 2005-2006 fiscal year. MOGE is exchanging with PE coated pipe in weak part of this pipe line since 2011 and exchanged length was 181 miles. And then, MOGE is now implementing exchanging the remaining pipe line in this project area.
