The opening ceremony of Elite Terminal International Jetty and Liquefied Petroleum Gas Storage Tank was held at Elite Petrochemical Co.,Ltd in Thilawa Port on 19^th  May,2018 in the morning (08:30)AM.

          In this ceremony, Union Minister U Win Khaing for Ministry of Electricity and Energy, Deputy Minister Dr. Tun Naing, Permanent Secretary and departmental heads, national entrepreneurs, invited Guests and responsible persons from Elite Petrochemical Co.,Ltd were presented.

          Firstly, Union Minister U Win Khaing delivered the opening address and pointed out that MOEE allowed to the private sectors to import oil and distribute since 2010 and since 2011.

          At that time, as MOEE gave impetus to private investors to construct LPG Terminal, Elite Petrochemical Co.,Ltd already has now completed it. So, MOEE allowed that company to import, store and distribute LPG including loading, unloading and jetty. Union Minister said that MOEE took much proud on opening for LPG new Terminal which is need for Myanmar. LPG is cleaned type thermal capacity. If it can be used as replacement of firewood and electricity , not only there will be reduce  environmental impact , but also forest deterioration and  electricity usage . Furthermore , people can get benefit in full usage of electricity for other  required places. Therefore, MOEE has required to promote LPG import and distribution work . LPG factory (Min Bu) produced means of (11) tons per day and LPG factory (Nyaung Tone), (12) tons per day. It cannot supply full domestic requirement.

          Elite Petrochemical Co.,Ltd got MIC permission on 16-1-2013 to work LPG import , started the construction of LPG terminal in 2015 and successfully can open today. This is the first terminal of private owner in Myanmar which is constructed according to international safety standard and MOEE's rules and regulations.

          In previous time, although MOEE has to rely to import LPG from  Thailand by road, today MOEE allowed Parami Energy Services Co.,Ltd for hiring LPG Terminal of Myanma Petrochemical Enterprise , as well as opening LPG new terminal of  Elite Petrochemical Co.,Ltd , MOEE can import LPG with cheaper price by waterway . It can help public to use more LPG.

          MOEE has been planning to distribute LPG up to villages in 2020 so that one million households can use. By making long term hiring to  Yatanar Su Co.,Ltd on 25-10-2017 and short term hiring to Parami Energy Services Co.,Ltd so that public can use  widely with cheaper price , MOEE is cooperating with private sector . Besides, MOEE has been implementing LPG Pilot Project as CSR Project which is distribute LNG to 72 villages from Myo Thar Industrial Zone, Mandalay Region.

          Although it can get much benefit by widely use of LPG, MOEE is fighting with many challenges in LPG distribution and usage safely, market, prize, quality.etc.. The main challenge is that MOEE cannot identify Law, rules and regulations due to being drafted laws, a few filling stations which can import LPG, weak distribution system to everywhere.

          Myanmar's LPG industry will develop by cooperation between Elite Petrochemical Co.,Ltd and  MOEE.  MOEE has been implementing to use LNG as CNG for vehicles.

          And then, Executive Chairman U Aung Thet Man, Elite Petrochemical Co.,Ltd said thankful remarks.
