THE Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce (UMFCCI) and the Myanmar Industries Association(MIA)held a coordination meeting on the electricity and energy sector yesterday in UMFCCI, Yangon.                                           H.E.Union Minister for Electricity and Energy U Win Khaing said the current electricity production of 3,000 MW was slated to be increased by another 3,000 MW in three years. Many years have passed without the adequate supply of electricity, and thus, plans were underway to increase its production.

UNION  Minister for Ministry of Electricity and Energy U Win Khaing together with Chief Minister of Taninthayi Region Dr.Le Le Maw, Deputy Minister Dr.Tun Naing, regional ministers, Director Generals from the ministry and departmental officials inspected developmental tasks in Myeik on 17 February.         The Union Minister and party looked into construction of Htonkha-Thephyu-Maw-taung road section which is about 70 mile long and is being built by The Myeik Public Corporation through BOT system in Taninthayi Township. The Union Minister was briefed about the work progress by Chairman of The Myeik Public Corporation U Hla Than.

The Coordination Meeting Concerning with Preparation State for Continuous Power Supply during the Basic Education High School (B.E.H.S) Examination period was held on 16th February, 2018 (08:30) hr at the Meeting Room of Ministry of Electricity & Energy, Office No.(27), Nay Pyi Taw.           H.E. Union Minister U Win Khaing, Deputy Minister Dr. Tun Naing, Permanent Secretary U Tin Maung Oo, Director Generals, Managing Directors, Departmental Heads of Ministry of Electricity & Energy, Divisional Engineers from respective States/ Regions and responsible persons were attended to the meeting.

The ceremony for press release (2/2018) of MOEE was held at Office No. 27 , NPT , 10 o'clock today. In this ceremony, MOEE explained the situations of  preparation for continuous power supply across the country during BEHS Exam, leakage of gas while digging a hand pump well in farming land No.101, Dala township of Yangon Region, the construction status of gas pipe line within 2017-2018 fiscal year by MOGE, the status of more supply of electricity with full voltage after completion of 66/11-6.6 kV,30MVA
