Under the guidance of the State President's trip to Putao- Kawnglanghpu on 13th January 2018, H.E. U Win Khaing, Union Minister for MOEE instructed to transport 10 kW×3 no. generators to Kawnglanghpu in order to distribute electricity across the town. They were moved very difficult due to no motor way but successfully arrived at Kawnglanghpu on 12th February 2018. The town was electrified by 18.75 kW generator before. For more electricity supply, the construction of new transmission line 400 V × 3200 feet was completed on 27th February 2018 and opening ceremony for transmission line 400 V × 3200 feet and totally 48.75 kW generator was held on 5th March 2018. Battalion commanda lieutenant colonel Nay Myo Zaw, township administrator U Myint Tun and U Peta, personality of the town, cut the ribbon to open this ceremony. Now, Kawnglanghpu is electrified almost the whole town.

  H.E. Union Minister U Win Khaing for MOEE accompanied by Deputy Minister Dr.Tun Naing and Departmental Heads arrived Shan State  Government Office in Taunggyi, Shan State on 4 th March 2018 morning. Union Minister U Win Khaing negotiated with Chief Minister and Ministers for Shan State for cooperation in Electricity and Energy Sectors.

H.E. Union Minister U Win Khaing accompanied by Deputy Minister Dr. Tun Naing and U Swe Thein  , Minister for Electricity, Energy and Industry of Shan State and Departmental Heads inspected construction site of Upper Keng Tawng Hydropower Project (HPP) implemented by Department of Hydropower Implementation .It is  located on Nam Tain Chaung about 14 miles of South West of Keng Tawng . The trip means  to supply more electricity across the  Nation and South & West Shan State. Main Dam length is (1800) ft and height is (230) ft. It is Zone Typed Rock filled Dam and full storage volume is (104,000) Acre-feet with installed capacity of 51MW (17MW ×3 Nos) . This project would be generate (267) Million KWhrs annually. It is effective project for these region.

H.E. Union Minister U Win Khaing met the Chairman and members of Head Office of Pa'O Self - Administered Zone in Taunggyi District, Southern Shan State on 2nd March, 2018 in the morning.

Ministry of Electricy and Energy, The Republic of the Union of Myanmar and ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) will hold the competitions for Energy Efficient Building, Renewable Energy Project , Energy Management for Building & Industry and Green Building for year 2018. Therefore, Government Sector and Private Sector can participate in these competitions of ASEAN Energy Awards 2018.
