Opening Ceremony of 500kV Kankaung (Meiktila) – Saparkyawe (Taungoo) Transmission Line stringing (146 Miles) was held on March 17, 2019 (08:30) am in Meiktila at its project place.           It was also attended by Union Minister for Ministry of  Electricity and Energy, U Win Khaing, Deputy Minister for Ministry of Electricity and Energy, Dr. Tun  Naing, Minister for Electric, Industry and construction of Mandalay Regional Government, U Zarni Aung, Hluttaw Representatives, Departmental heads, local people and guests.

In order to supply the electricity requirement within this summer, the opening ceremony of a 225 Megawatt Natural Gas Fired Power Plant near the Myingyan Steel Factory, Myingyan Township, Myingyan District, Mandalay Region built by Sembcorp Power Myanmar Co., Ltd. landed in the Republic of Singapore was held on 16th March, 2019 at 9:30 PM.

Launching Ceremony on Myanmar National Energy Statistics 2019 as per four year plan (2016-17 to 2019-20) of Myanmar Energy Statistics Development Programme conducting by Cooperation between OGPD, MOEE and Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) was held at Park Royal Hotel, Nay Pyi Taw on 11.3.2019 at 09:00 hr. Union Minister H.E. U Win Khaing for MOEE, responsible persons from relevant ministries, organizations, Professor Hidetoshi Nishimura, President, and members from ERIA were attended.

    Union Minister H.E. U Win Khaing for Ministry of Electricity and Energy, Deputy Minister Dr. Tun Naing and Departmental heads inspected 230 kV war-ta-yar main substations, at Shwepyitha Township, Yangon Region under Department of Power Transmission and Supply Control on 9th March, 2019 in the morning.

  Deputy Minister H.E. Dr.Tun Naing for Ministry of Electricity and Energy, U Set Aung, Chairman of Thilawa Special Economic Zone Management Committee and Representatives of Yangon Electricity Supply Corporation attended Coordination Meeting for Stability of Electricity Distribution held on 8th March 2019 at Yangon Thilawa Special Economic Zone. At the meeting, representatives of Thilawa Special Economic Zone explained conditions of getting, distributing electricity and the needs of work.
